| Description | DiD modelling is an important tool for applied researchers. Employing a ‚quasi-experimental‘ approach, DiD aims to estimate causal treatment effects when randomised control trials (RCTs) are unavailable. While the basic 2×2 DiD design is well understood and relatively easy to implement, there are many possible extensions that can be applied to different data structures and contexts. This lecture begins by reviewing the basic DiD model and then examines a selection of DiD applications in empirical research. Finally, extensions beyond the basic methodology are discussed. |
