Seminar contentThis interactive workshop supports PhD students in developing scholarly contributions, writing for publication, and navigating the academic career path. Drawing on experience as Associate Editor for top journals (Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, JVB, JOHP), Prof. Rofcanin will guide students through reflective exercises, writing strategies, and career development tools.

Participants will explore the concept of scholarly conversations—what they are, how they are shaped, and how researchers can engage meaningfully with or influence them. We will then shift our attention to the importance of alignment between theory, method, and sampling before moving to focus on the craft of academic writing. On the second day, the workshop will transition to academic career development. The workshop will include candid conversations about rejection, career pivots, and maintaining long-term motivation. Strategies for building visibility—through conferences, social media, editorial service, and connections with industry—will be covered, alongside exercises for developing a coherent scholarly identity.
