Seminar content | This two-day workshop is designed for PhD candidates who wish to develop a deeper understanding of the principles and practices of academic peer review. Participants will learn how to critically evaluate scientific manuscripts, provide constructive and balanced feedback, and respond effectively to reviewers’ comments when revising their own work for publication. Combining conceptual input with guided discussions and hands-on exercises, the workshop strengthens participants’ critical thinking, reviewing, and writing skills while deepening their understanding of the publication process and the ethical foundations of scholarly communication. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to assess research articles in their field with regard to theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, and clarity of argumentation, craft structured and professional review reports, and address common ethical challenges such as bias, conflicts of interest, and confidentiality.
